Hi all,

I've been interested in starting a podcast for a while now. I think the format is gonna be a lot of fun. I'd like to do a podcast focusing on cool hi-tech gadgets, HT, Audio, Video, Recording, Music, Movies, some minor celeb gossip and bashing, etc. I'd like to be able to interview guests from around the country without having to fly them in to my studio to record the show.

Logistically, I'm curious if there is software available to help me bridge the distance barrier between me and any guests that I meet online. I can't think of how to record an interview unless my guest is in the studio with me, which might not be possible very often. Does anyone know of any software that might take care of this issue? Also, it would be great if there were programs available to help me catalog, manage and publish (to the internet) my shows once they are recorded.

Does anyone have any advice?

A lot of radio shows just have guests call in, though they might have equipment cleaning up the sound a bit. I think that would probably be your best bet, as long as you can make a decent recording of the call on your computer.

I believe there are also programs which allow voice chat and conference calls over the net and provide easy solutions for recording, but the stuff I am vaguely familiar with is meant for business rather than broadcast, probably doesn't sound great, probably isn't cheap, and would require that you're guests have the proper hardware and/or software. Phones on the other hand are common and convenient.

I don't know of any specific software, so all I can really suggest is looking around download.com
