What are your fond memories of movies past? Favorite movies from your childhood, fond memories revolving around watching a movie, or the first movie you can remember watching on the big screen, that sort of thing.

When I was a kid, we had a crappy beta vcr, and only 3 movies (2 of which were forbidden to me) so I would watch return of the jedi over and over again. It was bad enough that I could recite the whole movie from start to finish, but I also wanted to dress like luke, I would swing any stick I could find wildly and make lightsaber sounds, and despite being rather young, I did get my hands on my own crossbow. Ah, those were the days, when we didn't have the internet, and it took real skill to get a 175 lb crossbow into the hands of a 65 lb kid. It was only when someone explained to me that girls can't stand star wars nerds that I was able to break free.

Then again, looking back at my love life, that may have been a mistake. IPB Image

For me it would be Home Alone. Each Christmas of my life french television broadcasted it on the chanel one. Each single years. I remember myself with a huge blanket on my gran ma funky sofa watching Macaulay Culkin kicking Joe Pesci ass while big snowflakes were falling out the window. Now I respect it like a tradition ! Even if french TV stoped to broadcast it I bought it on DVD so that I can watch it each christmas and felling again this so special christmas atmosphere !

Every christmas without fail my dad used to watch a version of Scrooge on tv and cry like a child. I used to mock him mercilessly.

Sadly he passed away a couple of years ago and i never told him that every christmas, i curl up on the sofa watch Scrooge and have a little cry

Hmm, Christmas movies eh? this reminds me of a fun story.

It was thanksgiving, and I was at my dad's place. We had eaten and so being lazy and in a dysfunctional family that can't communicate or relate in a healthy way, we were all watching random crap on TV. Somehow, we ended up watching A Christmas Story (I hate that movie) and when we got to the fight scene where one of the bullies gets a bloody nose, my 6 year old half sister started crying. So, to shut her up we changed the channel for 10 minutes until she forgot about the sight of fake orange blood, and changed it back. Then, we got to the scene where the dogs steal the turkey and my sister starts crying again because now the people don't have anything to eat. It was obvious she was doing it for the attention.

So later that night, I was talking to my step monster, and somehow we got to morbid stories. She mentioned someone she knew of when she was a kid who had stepped on a loose board, which unfortunately had a nail in it, and when it popped up, the nail went right into his eye. This was bad timing, as my sister had just walked into the room and upon hearing this started crying. At this moment, a little angel guy and a little devil guy appeared on my shoulders and we had a short meeting. In order to cheer my little sister up I told her "Think about teddy bears. Cute cuddly happy little teddy bears." And just as she was calming down and starting to smile I said "Look one of them just stepped on a board with a nail in it..." and for the next couple of minutes she was crying and everyone around her was unable to stop laughing.

Sigh. I'm going to hell.

I use to watch TMNT the movie so much! It was a great movie. I didn't watch the movie reboot that came out last month though.
