I heard about this. It's tragic. 32 so far - that's even worse than Columbine, no? Does anybody know what caused this? I mean, were they trying to make a point or were they just psychos?

as far as I know, there has been no motive discovered. And, yes, this is the deadliest school shooting in U.S. history. Sad day.

I don't understand why people do these things.

Terrible news. I really don't know what to say. Why someone would want to do such a thing is beyond me.

Yes, this was very sad news indeed... down here at UNC we felt it hard and have been wishing our Hokie friends (VA Tech students) well. I know someone that knew someone who was killed.

I see stuff like this and I find it far too easy to just ignore it. I acknowledge the horror and tragedy of this event, but I've seen enough death that it no longer affects me that more people died somewhere. Unless I'm there when it happens or know one of the victims, it just doesn't have any real impact on me. Again, not saying it isn't horrible, just talking about my own reaction.

However, I can sort of relate to this in a way. I knew a guy in college who was scary as hell. Literally. As a friend of mine put it "I had never seen the devil walking on earth until I met [him]." There was nothing particularly noteworthy about his appearance, but somehow you could just sense concentrated evil around him like a dark cloud. He had been stalking a few people (myself included, thanks to his recognition of me from his 6th grade class) and after the cops started getting involved, he snapped and killed both of his parents and then burnt the house down while he was inside. Everyone who knew him was shocked, but not one of them was surprised.

Have you seen the video and photos he sent between two murders !? That's just sick ! He wrote something sensless, absolutely formated. He took pictures pictures of himself holding a hammer with an angry face ... some guys are just disconnected I don't know ...

Yeah, I saw that. NBC. Some controversy over whether they shoulda released that stuff, but yeah, definitely disturbing.
