OK, let's talk movie characters.

Who are your favourites, whether completely fictional or based on a real person, whether good or evil, whether you love or hate them.

Who is the greatest?

A few to get the ball rolling,

Leon from Leon, best assassin ever,

Ting from Ong-Bak, wouldn't wanna fight that dude,

David Wooderson from Dazed & Confused, coolest high school dropout in history.

Just a few of my favourites.

Let the debate begin.

thanks biggrin.gif I was both surprised and not surprised to see Lord of the Rings take 3 of the categories for me... I love the movies but it is not my favorite film by far. It did however have many great characters, each with their own well defined qualities... some of those qualities were ones I thought of... there can definitely be no argument about loyality and samwise gamgee.... and how do you not give best speeches to a king whose every other word was an inspirational line fed to his countrymen.

One character has impacted modern cinema like no other, that is...

Tyler Durden

Talk about tapping into the psyche of the modern man. Not only is he the embodyment of all that every man wishes to be but he also does it with a sly whit that only a very few manage to obtain. Ok, so he isn't exactley a 'positive' role model, but hey, in a time when all our supposed heros are muscle bound lunk heads, here is a character that gives hope to a generation of misrepresented men. Telling it like it is, we can't ask for more than that.

they are indeed quite a group of characters
Antonio Montana
Best Hitman - I think I would have to go with Leon, edging out Creasy (Man on Fire)
Best Comedy - Jay and Silent Bob (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II)
Best Mob Figure - Michael Corleone (The Godfather Trilogy)
Best Villain - this is a hard one, I'll say Vader, with Keyser Soze (The Usual Suspects) second. And after a couple more movies in the series Voldemort may make it up there.
Anti-Hero - Antonio Montana
Straight Up Weird Mofo - Darwin Tremor (Smokin' Aces)

Best character EVER - Antonio Montana

Best Irishman: Steven (braveheart)

Although Stephen from Braveheart is great, I have to give "Best Irishman" to Micky O'Neil from Snatch.

And "Straight Up Weird Mofo" for me is Buffalo Bill from Silence Of The Lambs.

Also, a new category, "Favourite Loveable Dumbass", which for me is Dirk Diggler/Eddie Adams from Boogie Nights.. "You're not the boss of me Jack, you're not the king of Dirk, I'm the boss of me, I'm the king of me, I'm Dirk Diggler, I'm the star, it's my big d*ck and I say we roll"

Any Groucho Marx character (they are all the same really) is great. I sometimes try to emulate his extremely quick wit in every day life, and it's always a blast. Hard as hell thoughIPB Image

Ujio is awesome in last samurai.

Not really the best character ever, but Davy Jones is worthy of a mention for the squid beard and great accent.
