I love weapons and other sharp objects. Knives, swords, axes, and more, it's all so much fun. I actually have a small collection, which is modest, but enough to scare the $#!t out of my friends. Not that I blame them, I mean, it is a bit unusual to sleep with a battle axe next to your bed.

So anyway, I was wondering if any of you guys have any cool implements of destruction, or anything else to say on the topic.

Since I could go on for hours about mine I'll limit myself to my favorite item at the moment:

NINJA CLAWS (SHUKO)

Amazingly cool, fun to wear, and actually functional for climbing and defense, these are some of the best toys I've ever had. the only problems are that you really must wear gloves underneath or risk breaking your hands, and that the foot claws that should go with them are way too small for my feet, forcing me to either climb almost entirely with upperbody strength, or go with the lumberjack style foot spikes which cost about 10 times as much. I'll probably just end up making my own, but it's still a pain.

Still, quite awesome. definitely a 9.5 out of 10

Me and my dad collect stuff like that, but none as cool as ninja claws. 0.0 We're more old fashioned, going for swords, daggers and, in one case, a double spiked mace. laugh.gif Some of them are dead blades, but some are purdy darn sharp.

I love old fashioned stuff myself. I have this beautiful dagger (lord of the rings knockoff, very cool) which I just recently sharpened, making it good for real use rather than just cutting brownies. Too bad I dont have any pictures of it, as it is rather impressive.

What annoys me is that I cant carry any of my weapons in public. I mean, my battle axe or ninja sword would be a bit much, but dont you think that if someone tries to mug me I should have the right to make him piss his pants when he sees me whip out this bastard:

What do you think?

Yeah, but you hardly need weapons - just give them your psycho look. laugh.gif

Ok, so I got a new toy. While it isnt actually sharp, it does sort of fit the category. It's a japanese white oak (translation: authentic/high quality) Bokken (tranlsation: properly balanced wooden sword, as seen in the last samurai and elsewhere). This would not be all that note worthy, were it not for the fact that I gave pair of (slightly) smaller "youth daito" bokken to my 6 year old nephew for christmas. I'm really glad his mom was not there (family politics) or she probably would have killed me.

Not as cool as the serrated ninja sword, talon dagger and kunai throwing knives I gave my sister/ex-girlfriend for her birthday, but for a six year old, it was pretty awesome.

Oh, and by the way, I typed this and everything else I posted in the last couple hours while wearing my ninja claws. biggrin.gif

Lol, the idea of you wearing Ninja Claws while typing on Cinephiliacs just cracked me up, makeitstop. smile.gif
Caamora4
that would almost be worthy of a return of HST on the paint wagon, the artist's corner has been out of action for far too long Mr Turtle

That's nothing. I can also cook, clean, drive and piss while wearing them too. They also make a decent comb and they beat the hell out of joy buzzer any day.

OK, so 2 new additions to the collection. First of all, I couldn't resist buying this the second I saw it:

Yes, I bought the shield from Zelda. You may now express your jealousy. Or call me a total nerd. Either one.

However, that isn't the best part.

This is the real pride of my collection:

Yes, a last samurai inspired sword. Razor sharp, handmade, high quality. Absolutely beautiful. Just look at these extreme close ups:

Myself and a few mates bought that Last Samurai katana for a mate as a leaving present.
Strangly, there were very few managers around when we gave it to him.

It is a quality sword though. I take it its the stainless steel version you've got there.

I've got two katanas and a quality Ninjutsu sword. The katanas aren't that well balanced to be fair, but hey, they were cheap and look pretty. The Ninjutsu sword is way too heavy to be practical, but hot damn, its sweet.

Actually this is one is high carbon steel. Stainless steel is nice for a knife, but if I remember correctly, it isn't strong enough to survive the forging process for samurai swords, and it isn't very well suited to long and narrow blades.

There are way too many versions of the last samurai sword out there; it makes them too hard to distinguish. This is the middle of the road one which is hand forged from a machine stamped start, and is a very authentic sword in all the ways that matter, and convincingly fakes all the things that don't. So it isn't the $350.00 model, but it aint one of the purely decorative ones from the mall either.

Next on the list is a pair of 23 inch, black, octagonal sais. And possibly a naginata. Or a new crossbow. Or those sweet wolverine claws. Or a nice bastard sword. But definitely the sais.

A new toy arrived today, and while it may not be as big and flashy as some of my others, it is definitely one of the coolest pieces in my collection. Behold:

The Honeycomb

IPB Image

It looks like a simple comb, until you pull out the handle revealing a cruciform stiletto dagger. Lightweight, and made from ultra hard plastic, this thing is durable, effective, and virtually undetectable.

I love it. biggrin.gif

Well, I've added a few pieces to my collection, but nothing really worth mentioning. I did however recently get a new set of kitchen knives.

Gentlemen, I give you, The Ex:
