Ok i've been filtering through all the greatest movie thread and came up with an idea so here it is, small polls to find the best of related movies like the best star wars pick, or godfather, even remake vs original anything like that to keep some order please post the topic header as "The Best: then what ever you're doing", eg "The Best: Star Wars". Other rules are keep it short, under 10 movies would be best, keep the films related (director, name, actor (could get a bit big) ect) NOT just genre please. Basicly look at this poll and replace it with your movies
oh as an extra thing anybody who wants to, post your pick and a comment on why you picked it
So here is the first one and it's Kevin Smith
and i picked
Dogma, It's just too funny but Clerks close second

Dogma, can't help but love it and watch it every single time I happen upon it, half-over, playing on Comedy Central.

Kevin Smith as a director is becoming an odd thing. I like his early work based on the instantaneous independent filmmaking ethos. Rather than writing for Hollywood, he's writing for himself and that charm is what populates his first few films. Jay and Silent Bob is the first film that is written purely for the fans and diastinguishes itself as a Looney Tunes cartoon in live action.
He's a man of the moment, caught up in the new wave of leftfield movies that Tarantino set off with Resevoir Dogs. Prior to this period Independent movies were often ignored by the mainstream and received little to no promotion. Now Hollywood has caught up with the practice of low budget hits bought from festivals such as Sundance, Kevin Smith is now in limbo, finding it difficult to morph from quirky indie to commercial blockbuster.
My advice would be to drop all the LA commitments and return to what he knows best. Find some new characters and continue documenting his life journey in cinematic form.
I voted for Clerks
