i fully agree with all of yours, i also liked Spiderman 2 and Snatch(you really can't call it a sequal though)
the anomaly
id go with empire as well

and also aliens...
Heretic
Evil Dead II! As well as Snatch if it counts..

Can't forget Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

Anyone with enough nouse, knows that the Empire is a fine sequel. Its disstraught revelations and downbeat ebnding serves as a eye opener to a whole generation of 3 1/2" plastic toy wielding kids.

Hi, new here. I'm thinking I might be a little outdated, but I gotta say my favorite sequels are Godfather 2 and Indiana Jones, Temple of Doom.

5. Spiderman 2 - Way better than the first. I liked Spiderman 1, but loved the second one.

4. Godfather 2 - I know that the rest of the planet says that this one is the superior film, but I myself like the first one better. Now don't get me wrong, G-2 is practically a perfect movie, however IMO, G-1 is just a bit more perfect. That being said, if only all sequels could match the quality ratio that this one did with its predecessor, then I bet that there wouldn't be any more wars in the world.
Like,
ever.

3. The Empire Strikes Back - I would say that this one was the best of the first trilogy, but I don't want overstate the obvious.
I will say though that I always knew that Darth Vee-to-the-Ay-to-the-Dee-er was Luke's biological patriarch. What I didn't realize was that Leia was Luke's sister.
Hah-hah....
Skywalker made out with own sister (:points-&-laffs:) .....
now yer kids are gonna be born with an extra ear, a distorted version of down's syndrome & a proficiant talent for playing the banjo. Hah-hah....!

2. Terminator 2 - Ahnold's bock....and better than ever.
Mann....
I wish I was made outta liquid metal......

1. Aliens - Yo, is it my imagination, or should we just put James Cameron in charge of all science fiction sequels?

The Good The Bad & The Ugly would rank high for me as would the Godfather Part II obviously.

I prefered X Men 2 to the original. 28 Weeks Later was also a very good follow up to a groundbreaking original.

Sanjuro is a fine sequel to Kurosawa's Yojimbo. A Fist Full of Dollars to a Few Dollars More.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO....NO NO...i thought 28 weeks later was terrible...it went for the cheap gore thrills and the Americanisation of it was horrendous

the scenes that were meant to shock such as thge helicopter scene just ended up being funny...same with the scene of Robery Carlyle's character tearing out his wife's eyes

i did like the ending of it though...have that you frogs laugh.gif

Empire managed to outshine the original star wars (no mean feat) makes it number one in my book.

The Godfather II ... definitely my favourite sequel .. I even liked it better than the original
ohdarklord
I just finished watching godfather II for the first time 5 minutes ago and it is a great sequel BUT

I would have to say Aliens, Terminator 2 and Hellraiser 2 are my favourite sequels.

The Godfather part II, The Empire Strikes Back

Indianna Jones and the last crusade was by far the best of the series.

I'm more of a Raiders person myself, both the sequels were fun though, yet to see Crystal Skull.

The obvious ones, all mentioned before, Aliens (also Alien 3 for me), Godfather II, Terminator 2.

Some personal favourites, Creepshow 2, Batman Returns, The Lost World: JP2, both Dawn & Day of the Dead, Ghostbusters 2, RoboCop 2, there's a lot more I'm sure, just a few that spring to mind.

Someone should start a thread on bad sequels, now that would keep us busy.

Saw ll was great. I thought it was scarier than the first one. Did anyone see that?
Antonio Montana
I have never seen any of the Saw movies. I think I need to, though.
Hot Springs Turtle
Terminator. tongue.gif Judgement Day - not Rise of the Machines.

As for Saw, I definately think 3 was decent, although a bit twisted (though I guess that's the point). It had a decent story to it.
