I know it is a little early for this sort of thing, but maybe some thoughts could be thrown out and movies recommended to others that people haven't seen. I will abstain for the time being, only because I don't have any concrete idea yet. I probably won't even post my top 10 for the year until about a month after the 1st of the year because I'll be racing to see Oscar contenders and other underrated art films that slipped past my radar. All the same, the forum is open.

I really enjoyed Hancock - super corny, but Will Smith doing what he does best, and a refreshing change from the run-of-the-mill superhero movies that are thick on the ground.
Going completely back on what I just said, The Dark Knight.

Another stunner of a film that's more than just a comic adaptation.

I don't even think of The Dark Knight as a superhero movie, really. To me, it is a crime saga, and a masterful one, at that.
Based on my calculations, my top 10 list for the year will be ready before the Oscar nominees are announced. Still have a few major hitters to see like In Bruges, Che, Revolutionary Road, The Reader, and Gran Torino. I don't have a full year's worth of reviews; just seven months with scattered test reviews from January-April, but I should be ready by mid-to-late January.
